Exciting Romantic Getaways in Wisconsin
You may not be aware of the many romantic getaways in Wisconsin. But if you're looking to spend some quality time together between July and September, there are many destinations in Wisconsin that are an excellent choice for sparking or re-igniting romance.

The Dells
Romantic Getaways in Wisconsin Dells
The Dells are a popular tourist destination for couples of all ages and from all over the world. Although sometimes brushed off as simply a tourist trap, there is a reason for the Dells' popularity: the incredible scenery and natural beauty of the surroundings. A Dells boat tour is an excellent opportunity to sit with your arms around your partner and admire the grandeur of the canyons as you float down the Wisconsin River. Or you can 'get back to nature' at Mirror Lake State Park, where there are lots of secluded camping and picnic spots for the two of you to enjoy each other's company.
If you're not the nature lover but still like the idea of spending some quiet time together, why not consider some of Wisconsin Dells' luxurious little bed & breakfast inns or romantic cabins? Private rooms, exceptional service, warm fireplaces and saunas all combine to make your stay perfectly relaxing and wonderfully romantic. For couples who want to get away from outside distractions, the Sundara Inn and Spa is an adults-only romantic spa resort that offers the ultimate in privacy.
Romantic Getaways in Wisconsin's Door County
Just northeast of Green Bay is Wisconsin's Door County. Far removed from the populated Dells, Door County has been called a romantic playground because of its exquisite waterfront villages, scenic drives, picturesque shoreline dotted with lighthouses, and selection of delightful country inns.
Door County is a place to visit if you want time to relax, rest, and renew your relationship. Lovely walking paths and bike trails will keep you active and enjoying the outdoors, while the whirlpool baths and saunas at your country inn make a great end to each day's activities.
Don't forget to sample some of the home baking at many of Door County's little bakery shops. The hospitality of the locals will delight and surprise you, and you'll find no shortage of people who want to make sure the two of you have the best romantic getaway possible.
Romantic Getaway Activities in Wisconsin
As wonderful as it is to enjoy each other's company, even the most romantic getaway can be enhanced by visiting some of the area's attractions. If you have a chance, take a drive down southwest Wisconsin's Route 33, one of the most scenic drives in the entire state. You'll pass through sweeping farmland, rolling hillsides, quaint little towns and Amish communities. Stop and say hello, have a coffee, and meet some of the locals.
If you want to turn up the volume, take a tour of the Miller Beer Brewery in Milwaukee. The tour is free, and you'll get to sample some of Miller's best brews in the beer garden. And if it's culture you're looking for, the Milwaukee Art Museum has a fine selection of works from some of the world's most influential artists, including Picasso and Andy Warhol. There's so much to do, you might end up wanting to take romantic getaways in Wisconsin every year.
